When we first opened the doors to our room we noticed that it was not like the room that was originally promised thru Booked.net. We went down to the lobby to find out why. They said that bookings made thru 3rd parties aren't always correct. But, fortunately the front desk person was able to find us a room that we had originally booked.
Didn't like paying an additional $17+ per day for parking. Non-guest I can understand but not for guests that must drive up to the mountain.
I like the quiet woodland location, both in summer and winter. The ou tdoor pool and hot tub are great. The free shuttle service is very handy, though it would have been nice to have a bus schedule in the room or given to us on check-in. Great value, I would choose it again.
We weren't told ahead we had to check in in a different location. As I know Whistler well, it was okay but for newcomers that could be difficult. As mentioned above, and bus schedule readily available would have been nice.
Lovely secluded quiet spot. Really close to Lost Lake and all biking/hiking trails. The room we had was lovely with a kingsize bed. Lodge was very clean and the pool and hot tub were wonderful. Free shuttle to the village was great also. Would definitely stay here again.
The only complaint was that there was no staff on duty at the lodge. There was a sign on the door informing us that we had to drive back into Whistler Village and find Blackcomb Lodge in order to check into the condo.
There was a great feeling from all the guests and the general quality of the hotel was certainly excellent. Overall we had a top weekend! It was a great way to start the ski season staying at Lost Lake lodge.
The only real downside was the location. Being at the start of the ski season the free shuttle was not running until 10.20 and it is a bit of a walk to the gondola so location is a little drawback. However it is definitely a worthy tradeoff when compared with the many advantages this lodge has available!
Location, jaccuzi, friendly tennants,
The jaccuzi jets had no pressure
The keycard system is comfortable. The hot tub is amazing after a day in the bike park.
We had to check in at a different location.
We were quite impressed with the comfort & style - since we hadn't stayed here before, we didn't know what to expect. The kitchen was fabulously outfitted - we had all utensils tht we needed & then some (enough that when we could have our friends over for dinner)! Was comfortable, quiet & convenient. Will happily stay here again. Great value for our family!
Just that the hot tub jets weren't working. Also, would have been nice to have "beach" type towels -- trade in the ones in the room for them when using the pool. This has been a successful idea in other places we have stayed. Would have been useful to be told where/how to access garbage & recyling bins? We ended up leaving in the room as we didn't know where to take it.
That there was the swimming pool and pool table for the kids
No access to any kind of food.....
I enjoyed my room but was very dissaponted with the staff there ansd that there was a time that you had to be out of the pooltable room which was 10.00pm. There was nobody that came by the room to give us towels and take out the garbage very dissaponting. I will not go back I will return back to the Horstman House which is right across the street.
The rooms have no housecleaning or garbage pickup and at 300.00per night that is really bad. Pool closed at 10pm and the pooltable room closed at 10pm too. Would be better for old people to stay there.
Great room and pool and hot tub., Pool could open earlier and cloce an hour later.
I really liked the track lighting and the gas fireplace. I liked how the kitchen was stocked with appliances and necessities so that we could cook for breakfast and lunch during our entire stay. The room size was perfect for us. What we really appreciated was the staff at the Blackcomb Lodge... We arrived at 3:30a.M. on 12/30 and Andy was very patient with all of our questions and gave us helpful tips on how to maximize our stay.
I think $300+ is rather expensive per night, but given the pricing of all of the other places in Whistler, I felt like it was the best deal.
Location just outside Whistler townsite was nice and quiet, right next to cross country ski trails.
Kitchen was poorly stocked, bare minimum required to get by. Extra charge for parking is very inconvenient. No hotel staff at location was discouraging for questions and support.
Easy access to Whistler Village by free city bus. Nice accommodations with fairly large deck.
There is no staffed front desk on site. Check in is done at another hotel in the village. It would be preferable to have someone at the hotel at least during peak check-in and check-out times.
